Men's A Mid-Season Update

As the winter break sets in, it's time to reflect on the Raptors Men's A performance during the first half of the 2024/25 season.

The team currently sits in 4th place, a slight improvement from last season’s 5th, with an identical tally of 27 points. This consistency, combined with a significantly improved goal difference of +20 (up from +11 last season), showcases the team’s growing strength. This season we go into the break just 2 points behind 2nd (vs 7 points gap last year) & 7 points behind 1st (vs 9 last year).

Defensive Masterclass and Goal Scorers Shine Defensively, the Raptors have been stellar, boasting the second-best record in the league with only 18 goals conceded. League leaders Olympia Radotín edge just ahead, having conceded 15 goals. Offensively, while we’ve scored one less goal than at this stage last season (38 vs. 39), two of our players are shining in the league's top scorers' chart: Leo Buzik with 13 goals and Michael Houdek with 11. Andrea Rizzi is not far behind in 11th place with 7 goals, demonstrating our attacking depth.

Discipline: A Work in Progress However, discipline has been a challenge this season. Yellow cards have risen significantly from 24 last season to 40, and the team has picked up two red cards compared to just one last season. This will be a key area to address as we look to maintain our competitive edge in the second half of the campaign.

Looking Ahead With the winter break underway, the team is gearing up for the second half of the season. Friendly matches are already planned for late January and early February to ensure we hit the ground running.

The Raptors have shown incredible growth this season, and with a few adjustments, we’re optimistic about climbing even higher in the league standings.
